Having just completed his sixth season as Music Director of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and recently been named Artistic Advisor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Sir Andrew Davis is one of the world's leading conductors. His remarkably varied repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary, with world premieres of many symphonic and operatic works to his credit. Known to audiences worldwide from his BBC Proms appearances, he is a notable interpreter of much twentieth century music, including Janacek, Messiaen, Boulez, Elgar, Tippett and Britten, as well as the core symphonic repertoire. Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra
The Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BIPO) began as the Borusan Chamber Orchestra, one of the first ventures in the field of culture and the arts by Borusan Holding, a leading industrial conglomerate in Turkey. In 1999 it was transformed into one of the leading Turkish philharmonic ensembles under its former artistic director and principal conductor Gürer Aykal.

| Borodin Quartet |

The Borodin Quartet is unquestionably one of the great music ensembles of the past century. Founded in 1945 as the Moscow Philharmonic Quartet, the ensemble was renamed the Borodin Quartet in 1955. The world's longest-lived string quartet, its legendary original cellist Valentin Berlinsky retired in 2007 to be replaced by Vladimir Balshin but Berlinsky remained as the quartet's mentor until his death in December 2008. The Borodin Quartet is connected particularly with the quartets of Shostakovich. Its 60th anniversary CD was released by ONYX and won a Grammy nomination in 2006. |

Stotijn is a BBC New Generation Artist 2005-6, Winner of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust prize 2005 and the ECHO (European Concert Halls Organisation) Rising Stars Award 2005-6.
Bernard Haitink, after conducting her debut in Mahler’s Rückert Lieder in Paris in June 2005 immediately invited her to Amsterdam to repeat it in 3 concerts with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, where she triumphed. (“A historic debut “,“ A dream debut” the Dutch press raved) Stotijn has made 3 highly praised ONYX recordings of songs by Schubert, Berg, Wolf, Mahler and Tchaikovsky.

Frankfurt-born soprano Christine Schäfer is a graduate of the Berlin Conservatoire. A versatile artist, Christine's operatic repertoire covers works by Handel, Mozart, Berg and Verdi and her concert repertoire ranges from Bach through Boulez. Her regular collaborators include Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Christian Thielemann. A dedicated performer of Lieder, Christine enjoys a busy recital career and has made several recordings of Lieder for both Hyperion and DG. Her recent collaboration with Onyx Classics has earned her outstanding reviews for Schubert’s Die Winterreise and her highly-personalised collection of Purcell and Georg Crumb, both together with Eric Schneider. |

Soprano Elena Kelessidi was born in Kazakhstan of Greek parentage. She studied at the conservatory in Alma-Ata before returning to Greece to make her debut. She appeared at the Megaron Hall Athens as Donna Anna in DON GIOVANNI, which brought her to the attention of the Royal Opera Covent Garden. She made her Covent Garden debut as Violetta in LA TRAVIATA since when her international career has continued to flourish. She has performed at all the world's major opera houses under conductors such as Chailly, Adam Fischer, Domingo and Nagano and is particularly renowned for her portrayals of Liu, Violetta, Mimi, Gilda and Amina

Eric Schneider has appeared as an accompanist in Europe, America, and Asia, notably with the singers Christine Schäfer, Matthias Goerne, Christiane Oelze, and Stephan Genz. He is a regular guest with these partners at the Schwarzenberg Schubertiade, the Salzburg Festival, and the Tanglewood Summer Music Festival. In addition to his recordings with Christiane Oelze and Matthias Goerne, he has had two highly praised recent releases on ONYX with the soprano Christine Schäfer: Schubert’s Winterreise in 2006, followed by a recital of songs by Henry Purcell and George Crumb.
