A stunning combination of virtuoso players who also enjoy active solo careers, London Winds' performances are renowned for their technical brilliance, interpretative vision and joie de vivre. Founded in 1988 by British clarinettist Michael Collins, the group has rapidly become one of the world's most prominent chamber ensembles.
The group is flexible in its make-up, augmenting its five original principal members with top international pianists and chamber musicians for certain repertoire. In particular, London Winds have enjoyed close associations with pianists Stephen Kovacevich, Howard Shelley, Pascal Rogé, Barry Douglas and Boris Berezovsky, and instrumentalist Isabelle van Keulen.

Recognised as one of leading accompanists of his generation, Malcolm Martineau has worked with many of the world’s greatest singers including Barbara Bonney, Susan Graham, Sir Thomas Allen, Dame Janet Baker, Olaf Bär Ian Bostridge, Angela Gheorghiu, Thomas Hampson, Simon Keenlyside, Magdalena Kozena, Dame Felicity Lott, Christopher Maltman, Karita Mattila, Ann Murray, Anna Netrebko, Anne Sofie von Otter, Joan Rodgers, Frederica von Stade and Bryn Terfel. For ONYX, he has recorded with Barbara Bonney, Susan Graham, Amanda Roocroft, Elena Kelessidi and Florian Boesch.

Recognised as one of the world’s best and most charismatic viola players, Maxim Rysanov is the winner of the prestigious 2008 Classic FM Gramophone Young Artist of the Year. Additional awards include the Tertis and Geneva competitions as well as the 2007 BBC New Generation artist scheme. Maxim’s recording projects include a Decca disc of Bach Inventions with Janine Jansen and Torleif Thedéen, which reached number 1 in the iTunes charts in the USA, a concerto disc of Tavener and Kancheli (Onyx) and a recital disc with Evelyn Chang (Avie) both of which were named Gramophone Editor’s Choice. Forthcoming recording plans include a disc of unaccompanied Bach and a disc with Tchaikovsky and Tabakova works with orchestra. |

| Mischa Maisky |

Born in 1948 in Riga, Latvia, Mischa Maisky entered the Leningrad Conservatory in 1962. In 1965 his debut with the Leningrad Philharmonic earned him the nickname “Rostropovich of the Future”. One year later he became prizewinner at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and began his studies with Rostropovich while pursuing a concert career throughout the former Soviet Union. After being imprisoned in a labour camp near Gorky for 18 months in 1970, he emigrated from the USSR. Today he is an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist with many famous recordings to his name and artistic collaborations with the greatest artists of the day.

| Moscow Soloists & Yuri Bashmet |

One of the world's most highly acclaimed chamber ensembles, the Moscow Soloists were founded by Yuri Bashmet in March 1992.
They have toured the great concert halls and festivals of the world and worked with such celebrated soloists as Sviatoslav Richter, Gidon Kremer, Mstislav Rostropovich, Maxim Vengerov, Barbara Hendricks, Lynn Harrell and James Galway. Their recordings include the Schnittke Triple Concerto with Kremer, Rostropovich and Bashmet himself, and four highly successful discs for ONYX, two of which gained Grammy nominations, the Stravinsky and Prokofiev winning the Award in 2008.

With a group of like-minded musicians, Viktoria Mullova formed her chamber group The Mullova Ensemble in 1994, with an inaugural tour of Italy. The Ensemble has since toured Germany, Spain, Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands, exhibiting a blend of scholarship and virtuosity appreciated by audience and critics alike. Their first two CDs are of Bach Violin Concertos and the Schubert Octet on ONYX (voted Editor's Choice in Gramophone), both demonstrating their ability to breathe life into music new and old.

Nikolai Demidenko’s passionate pianism is in demand worldwide. Russian born and trained, he was granted British Citizenship in 1995. Renowned for his authoritative performances of the Russian concerto repertoire such as Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, he has worked with conductors and orchestras throughout the world. His repertoire is wide-ranging including Bach, Clementi, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Mussorgsky and Scarlatti.
For Hyperion Records he recorded many award-winning albums including Medtner Concertos which won a Gramophone Award. With his first recording of the 24 Préludes, he embarks upon a new relationship with Onyx Classics. |

| Nikolai Lugansky |

Nikolai Lugansky was born in Moscow in 1972. He studied at Moscow Central Music School (under Tatiana Kestner) and then at the Moscow Conservatory, where he was a pupil of Tatiana Nikolayeva, who described him as ‘the next one’ in a line of great Russian pianists. Following Nikolayeva’s untimely death in 1993, Lugansky continued his studies under Sergei Dorensky. |

Ottavio Dantone is one of the most exciting and ersatile performers working in Baroque music. Since 1996 he has been musical director of Accademia Bizantina in Ravenna. He can be heard on numerous radio and television recordings in Italy and abroad, as well as on famous recording labels as both soloists and conductor for which he has gained many awards and acclaimed international reviews. They now have an exclusive contract with L'Oiseau-Lyre (Decca). As a solo harpsichordist has has recorded for Decca and now ONYX, including a successful Bach collaboration with Viktoria Mullova
