The Dallas Bach Society has since its inception strived to provide excellent Baroque Music on original instruments throguhout the American Southwest. Uniting a entourage of fine vocalists and instrumentalists in lively and historically informed performances of the great composers of the 17th & 18th centuries: Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Purcell, Monteverdi, Couperin, and Schütz.

Director of the society and harpsochordist James Richman is one of the leading conductors of Baroque music and opera. James Richman studied conducting with Max Rudolf and Herbert Blomstedt and piano with Mieczyslaw Horszowski. He is also the first musician since Leonard Bernstein to graduate Harvard, Juilliard, and the Curtis Institute of Music.
