Katia Labèque´s childhood was filled with music. Befitting her nonconformism, her eclectic repertory ranges from Bach to the present-day avant garde.
Katia´s musical originality has netted her a rare popularity. Together with her sister Marielle, she enjoys a stunning career throughout the world, playing with the most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, LSO, Philharmonia, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Filarmonia della Scala, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Vienna Philharmonic. An impressive festival itinerary has taken in the Hollywood Bowl, Lucerne, the Proms, Ravinia, Tanglewood, the Salzburg Easter.
In recitals she has enjoyed a long concert collaboration with Viktoria Mullova which resulted in a CD for ONYX entitled Recital in 2006.
Katia´s enthusiasm for new music led to her becoming a member of John Mc Laughlin´s group, touring worldwide with his band.Miles Davis immortalized her with two songs on his album You´re Under Arrest. She has also recorded an album with Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea entitled Little Girl Blue (Dreyfus).
Katia collaborated with Dave Maric and Marque Gilmore  on a live performance project called ‘the Katia Labeque Band’ which released one album : ‘Unspoken’.
She  has now embarked on a number of collaborative projects like ‘B for Bang’featuring Beatles music or ‘Garden of Evil’ on Bernard Herrmann’s music with Mike Patton,ZU,David Chalmin and Reeks.
Katia has been scheming for years about starting her very own label with her sister Marielle, KML recordings. This label will be a home to her eclectic musical collaborations as well as a place where musicians she admire will have the freedom to release music they want.
