Roge, Kobayashi, Hasegawa Trio

Pascal Roge exemplifies the finest in French pianism; his playing of Poulenc, Satie, Faure, Saint-Saens, Debussy and Ravel in particular is characterised by its elegance, beauty and delicate phrasing.

Born in Paris and pupil of Marguerite Long and Julius Katchen, Roge became an exclusive Decca recording artist at the age of 17. His Decca recordings include complete Poulenc and Ravel cycles, four best-selling albums of Satie and two of Debussy, and collaborations with such artists as Charles Dutoit, Pierre Amoyal, Chantal Juillet, London Winds, Quatuor Ysaÿe and Felicity Lott. He is the recipient of two Gramophone Awards, a Grand Prix du Disque and an Edison Award.  His latest recording project is the Roge Edition, released on the new Onyx label. The opening release inaugurates his first complete Debussy cycle with a widely acclaimed recording of the complete Preludes.

Pascal Roge has performed in almost every major concert hall in the world and with orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Montreal Symphony, L’Orchestre de Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, NHK Symphony Orchestra,  Oslo Philharmonic, Zurich Tonhalle, L’orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and all the major London orchestras.

Apart form a busy concerto and recital career, Pascal Roge regularly collaborates in concert with fine instrumentalists such as Ysaye Quartet, Leopold String Trio and Gautier Capucon.

D’autre part, en raison de ses nombreuses tournées: chaque saison, Pascal Roge consacre plus de cinquante concerts �  la musique française, en Allemagne, �  Vienne, Genève, Lausanne, Zurich, Londres ou dans le cadre de nombreux festivals en Angleterre, au Carnegie Hall de New York, �  Los Angeles, Chicago, Cleveland, Montréal ou Philadelphie. Pascal Rogé �  effectué des tournées en Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande et �  Hong Kong, au Japon..

Tout a commencé �  l’âge de neuf ans, lorsque Pascal Rogé fait sa première apparition en public avec les Préludes de Debussy, puis travaille pendant trois années avec Julius Katchen. Ses premiers récitals �  Paris et �  Londres, �  l’âge de 17 ans, lui valent des débuts triomphants ainsi qu’un contrat d’exclusivité avec DECCA.

Passionné de musique de chambre, il a donné de nombreux récitals avec des artistes tels Gautier Capuçon, Chantal Juillet, Pierre Amoyal, Michel Portal, Le Trio Pasquier et Le Quatuor Ysayë.

Mie Kobayashi began studying the violin at the age of four. She has received high prize and numerous prestigious awards in international competitions, both at home and abroad.  In 1990, she was the first Japanese artist to win first prize at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Competition for Piano and Violin. Thus she began her professional career and has subsequently gained widespread attention in recitals and joint performances with orchestras and in chamber performances in Europe, particularly France, but also Italy, Germany and Portugal as well as in Japan.Mie has performed with many orchestras such as the Prague Symphony and Radio Symphony Orchestras, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra ,  Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra and Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has released a total of 7 CDs for DENON, including French Violin Sonatas, Schubert works, a collection of miniatures, and Bach’s Violin Sonatas and Partitas.

Mie Kobayashi plays regularly with international artists such as Pascal Rogé, Gautier Capuçon and Pascal Moragues, and together with Rogé and Yoko Hasegawa has toured and recorded in France and Japan.

Diplômée de l’Université des beaux-arts et de la musique de Tokyo en 1985, en 1990, elle devient la première japonaise   remporter le 1er prix de l’épreuve de violon du Concours International Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud. Elle donne des récitals et joue avec divers orchestres en France, en Italie, en Allemagne, au Portugal, au Japon…

Comme soliste, Mie a collaboré  avec de nombreuses orchestres tels L’Orchestre Symphonique de Prague,  L’Orchestre Philharmonique national de Hongrie et les Orchestres Philharmoniques de Japon et de Nagoya.

Ella a gravé pour DENON plusieurs disques, comme oeuvres de Schubert, les sonates et partites pour violon seul de Bach, sonates françaises et une disque de miniatures.

Mie Kobayashi collabore regulièrement avec des artistes internationaux tels Pascal Rogé, Gautier Capuçon et Pascal Moragues, et avec Rogé et Yoko Hasegawa a tournée et enregistrée en France et au Japon.

Yoko Hasegawa started cello aged nine, and gave her debut recital in 1987. The following year she performed her first concerto with the Japan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kenichiro Kobayashi. Shortly after she was signed by Victor Entertainment (JVC) and released her debut album, entitled ‘Her Favourites’. This CD went to the top of the classical charts. In 1989, she went to the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki to study under Professor Arto Noras, and the following year won the special prize at the Mstislav Rostropovich International Cello Competition.

In addition to performing with the major orchestras of Japan, Hasegawa has perfomed concertos with international orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra (London), Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France (conducted by M. Janowski), Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Vassily Sinaisky), Prague Symphony Orchestra(under Zdenek Macal) and many others.

Hasegawa has released 13 CDs on JVC for whom she is an exclusive recording artist. Her Bach Cello Suites was selected as a Highly Recommended Disc by Record Geijutsu Magazine. She has played chamber music with both prominent Japanese musicians and internationally renowned pianists such as Pascal Rogé, Pavel Givilov and Myung-Whun Chung.

Yoko Hasegawa  commenca l’apprentissage du violoncelle a l’âge de neuf ans et fait sa première apparition publique en 1987, et l’année suivante son debut en concerto  avec l’orchestre philharmonique de Japon. Peu après elle a signé  un contrat exclusif avec Victor Entertainment (JVC) et son premier disque ‘Her Favourites’ connait un succès commercial extraordinaire au Japon. En 1989, elle fut l’élève de professeur Arto Noras �  l’Académie Sibelius, Helsinki et l’année suivante elle obtenait le prix spécial au Concours International de Mstislav Rostropovich.

Outre ses concerts avec les grands orchestres de Japon, Hasegawa s’est produite avec plusieurs les plus grands orchestres au monde, comme l’Orchestre Philharmonia de Londres, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Moscou,  l’Orchestre Symphonique de Prague (sous Zdenek Macal) et bien d’autres.

Depuis qu’elle a rejoint les rangs des artistes exclusives de JVC Hasegawa a enregistré  13 disques.  Sa disque des Suites pour violoncelle de Bach etait ‘Bien Recommandé’ par  Record Geijutsu Magazine.
