Soo-Hyun Park | Violin

Born in Seoul in 1989, Soo-Hyun Park began playing the violin at the age of seven. From 1999 she attended Dora Schwarzberg’s masterclasses at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she was also taught by Lucia Hall and Anna Kandinskaia. In the course of her studies she met Tamara Atschba, which led to a productive artistic collaboration. Between 1997 and 2010, she won recognition at numerous national and international competitions, including the Andrea Postacchini competition in Fermo (second prize), the Valsesia Musica competition in Varallo (Viotti special prize), the Rudolf Matz International String Competition in Dubrovnik (First Prize and Grand Prize), the Stefanie Hohl competition in Vienna (third prize) and the City of Brescia competition (special prize for the youngest finalist).

Soo-Hyun Park has appeared as a soloist throughout Europe as well as in China and South Korea. In particular, she has performed at the Mozartsaal in the Vienna Konzerthaus and in China with the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, in a concert broadcast live on television and radio.
